John of AllFaith is Multiplying! http://johnofallfaith.multiply.com/ Welcome to my Multiply! I'm John of AllFaith. Here's a brief introduction for those who are interested: I was born in 1957 in what was then rural North Georgia but today is basically a Cambodian and Laotian refugee city. After traveling much of the world I have settled in the Northern California buttes where I intend to stay. In <a href="http://allfaith.com/Mystoryl" target="external">1969</a> I had a <a href="http://allfaith.com/Mystory/vision.html" target="external">vision</a> that set the course of my life. Harmonious with the mandate of that vision I've been involved with many diverse <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions" target="external">spiritual and religious</a> disciplines, as will be obvious from the various topics I discuss here. The blogs here that were written prior to October 22, 2007 have mainly been auto-transfered here from <a href="http://360.yahoo.com/johnofallfaith">my previous Yahoo 360 site</a> and may have some technical errors. I'll be going through these posts asap to clean them up. On my <a href="http://allfaith.com" target="external">AllFaith.com</a> domain and through its related websites and blogs I share some of my experiences and insights in an effort to encourage others to keep <a href="http://allfaith.com/reaching.html" target="external">Reaching for the One</a>. Just to be clear, I make no financial gain from this or any other web presence. To me, much of what I do is ministry. In case you're interested, I hold a Calvary Chapel (Christian) Ordination, an independent Missionary Baptist (Christian) ordination, an MA in Religious Studies from JFKU, an ordination in Ministry and Spiritual Counseling from the Interfaith Seminaries, an ordination from the Universal Life Church, and am Pastor Emeritus of Grace Inclusive Church. It is my conviction that, "Truth is one, the sages call it by different names." To this end I have worked and studied with many <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions" target="external">different groups</a>. I attained the position of <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Hinduism/" target="external"> Vaisnava brahman</a> within the <a href="http://www.iskcon.com" target="external">International Society for KRSNA Consciousness (ISKCON)</a> and within the <a href="http://www.gopinathmath.com/Index.htm" target="external">Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math </a> (both members of the greater Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Vaisnava <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sampradaya">Sampradaya</a>). I manage two Gaudiya Vaisnava e-groups (the official e-group of the <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bodhayan" target="external">Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math</a> as well as a new cross-math <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vaisnavadiscussions" target="external">Gaudiya Discussion</a> group. I'm also a former student of <a href="http://www.siddhayoga.org" target="external">Swami Muktananda's Siddha Yoga Foundation</a> and an initiate of the <a href="http://www.anandaashram.org/founder.html" target="external">Yoga Society</a> (of Sri Brahmananda Sarasvati, -- Ramamurti S. Mishra, M.D). I've been deeply involved with <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Hinduism/" target="external">many Hindu sects</a> from diverse traditions. I've studied <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Sikhism" target="external">Sikhism</a> in depth and feel a close kinship with its teachings. I have spent time among the <a href="http://www.nimatullahi.org/sufism" target="external">Sufi</a>, been a <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Islam/" target="external">Wahabi Sunni Muslim</a>, which I left about a month a month after 9-11 when I was introduced to <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Islam/brotherhood.html" target="external">the Muslim Brotherhood Project</a>. In my opinion there is a lot of dangerous propaganda coming from all sides. I address some of this disinformation in my blog entries and at the <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Islam/" target="external">Islamic section</a> of AllFaith.com. I have also studied various forms of <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Judaism" target="external">Judaism</a> in some detail and am particularly drawn to <a href="http://www.karaite-korner.org" target="external"> Karaite Judaism</a>. Based on <a href="http://allfaith.com/Mystory/dream.html" target="external">my life-long recurring dream</a> I am convinced that in my previous life I died as a young Bulgarian Jew during the German wrought <a href="http://www.holocaustchronicle.org" target="external">Shoah</a>. Perhaps in part because of this memory I am utterly devoted to Israel and the Jewish people as will be obvious from even the most cursory reading of my blogs. For this reason it is accurate to think of me as a Zionist, as one who believes in the divine right of the Jewish people to live securely in all of their ancestral homeland. Despite this and my concerns about the rise of the global Islamic Ummah, I honor the Muslim people and their deen (religion/way), however if a choice must be made, I stand with Israel and the Jewish people. In my video collection here you will find an excellent documentary entitled, The Jews Stole No One's Land. I recommend this video highly. As mentioned above, I've worked, worshiped and studied closely with <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Christianity" target="external">numerous Christian denominations</a> and movements including Missionary, Primitive, Seventh Day and Southern Baptists and other Protestant sects as well as with Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodoxy. I've been one of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses (as many others I left when their 1975 prophecies failed), a Pentecostal, a Charismatic, a Methodist and an active member of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC) and the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), etc. I manage two Lavender Christian e-groups and a detailed website on <a href="http://allfaith.com/Grace" target="external">the Bible and Homosexuality</a> (links to these two e-groups can be found there). I did Missionary service in Central America, carried a 12x6 foot wooden cross on my back from Atlanta Georgia to San Antonia Texas and through portions of Central America and South America and, as I mentioned above, have received Christian ordinations. I've also lived and worked among Taoists and various <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Buddhism/" target="external">Buddhist sects</a>, including the Dharmadhatu of <a href="http://www.chronicleproject.com">Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche</a>. I've delved into the Occult Arts and into the teachings of <a href="http://www.gurdjieff.org/foundation.htm" target="external">Gurdjieff</a>, <a href="http://www.blavatsky.net/" target="external">Madame Blavatsky</a> and am an accomplished reader of the Tarot (and Rotat) and other arts although I don't practice these much anymore. I was also initiated as a Welsh Traditionalist <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions/Pagan" target="external">Pagan</a> priest. I've been involved with these and numerous other groups and movements too numerous to mention here, although more is mentioned in my autobiographical section known as <a href="http://allfaith.com/Mystory/" target="external"> MyStory</a> and in <a href="http://allfaith.com/Religions" target="external"> Religious Studies</a> section of <a href="http://allfaith.com" target="external">AllFaith.com</a>. It was called Jagannatha's Roam'n Church (as in roaming around looking for the Truth ). "Jagannatha dasa" (or servant of the Lord of the Universe) is one of my initiated names (I have several). Around August of 1997 I left AOL and created two websites, one at <a href="http://geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/1723/" target="external">Geocities</a> (this was before Yahoo bought and destroyed the neighborhood component of that site) and the other at <a href="http://jagannatha.tripod.com/" target="external">Tripod</a>. We were housed in a large room lined with wall to wall cots. As Andy and Joe got to the shelter as it first opened they were able to get cots for us on the far side of the room along the wall. Our computers were in my truck for safe keeping but we were very happy to see a sign saying the shelter had wireless Internet access. So, when I arrived we began setting up two of our machines. As it was 106 degrees outside and very smoky we first set up Joe's computer, took a short break and then brought in mine a few minutes later. Not much changed over the night. The fire lines on our side (I mean our house, we are in Chico now) did "drop" a bit closer in our house's direction.
